DGP Says They Threw Grenade Before Being Nabbed By Police, Army

Jammu, Sept 19 (GNS): Police on Saturday claimed to have arrested three Lashker-e-Toiba militants from Rajouri district of Jammu division.
A police officer told GNS a joint operation was launched by police and security forces at Gurjan Bala Rajouri. Three militants, Rahil Bashir alias “Ayaan Bhai” of Pulwama, Amir Jaan alias “Hamza” of Kakapora Pulwama and Hafiz Yunus Wani alias “Zubair” of Shopian, were apprehended with a large cache of arms and ammunition.
Addressing the media persons the Director General of Police Dilbag Singh said that Jammu Kashmir Police, Army and other security forces are working hard to maintain peace and order in the Jammu and Kashmir. He said that ‘unfortunately Pakistan is always hell-bent on disturbing the peace in Jammu and Kashmir.” He said that twin border districts Rajouri and Poonch of Jammu has been witnessing militant infiltration bids sponsored by the Pakistani authorities. He said that due to synergy and close liaison between the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Army and other security forces many of such acts are thwarted on the border and in the hinterland successfully.
The DGP said that drones are being used by the Pakistani agencies and its sponsored outfits to supply arms and ammunition and drugs inside J&K. He said that continuing with best efforts of the security agencies such attempts are being foiled. Speaking about the arrest of three LeT militants, the DGP said Rajouri Police along with Army’s 38 RR had launched a Cordon and Search Operation in the general area of Gurdan where suspected three persons carrying a bag each were spotted. They attempted to flee after throwing a grenade on the search party but the grenade did not explode and the personnel of police and army managed to nab all of them along with huge cache of arms and ammunition which were dropped by drone from Pakistan.
