Kupwara, Jul 21 (GNS): Two conmen were on Tuesday afternoon apprehended by police after making an abortive burglary attempt in a Grameen bank branch here in Natnussa area of this north Kashmir district. 

Reports reaching GNS said that two persons identified as Ashiq Ahmad son of Mohammad Ahsan Wani and Javid Ahmad son of Abdul Rahim Wani, residents of Kulangam area of handwara, brandishing (toy) guns entered a Grameen Bank branch at Natnussa this afternoon.

However, the alert officials, as per the reports, caught hold of the duo and snatched the toy guns from them.

A police official confirming the incident told GNS that the duo has been taken into custody and necessary action as warranted by law will be initiated against them.

“We have lodged an FIR number 172/2020 under section 393 against the duo and further investigations in this regard have been taken up, “ the official added.(GNS)
