J&K Covid-19 Toll Crosses 1700-Mark With 8 More Deaths

Srinagar, Dec 1 (GNS): The death toll due to covid-19 crossed grim milestone of 1700-mark with eight more people succumbing to the pestilence in last 24 hours, officials said on Tuesday.

They said that among the victims, five were from Jammu division and three from Kashmir Valley.   

The victims from Jammu include an 82-year-old man from Udhampur, an 86-year-old from Trikuata Nagar Jammu, a 44-year-old man from Ramkore Billawar Kathua, a 35-Year-old from Rajwatta Ramkot Kathua and a 52-year-old from man, the officials told GNS.   

Those who succumbed to the virus in Valley include two residents of Srinagar and one from Anantnag.

With these deaths, the total fatality count in the Valley has reached 1107 and 595 in the Jammu region. The J&K reported 100 deaths in around 13 days, the officials said.

Srinagar district with 418 deaths tops the list followed by Jammu (302), Baramulla (163), Budgam (101), Pulwama (86), Kupwara (83), Anantnag (79), Doda (56), Bandipora (51), Kulgam (51), Rajouri (49), Udhampur (50), Ganderbal (38), Shopian (37), Kathua (39), Samba (30), Poonch (22), Ramban (18), Kishtwar(18), and Reasi (9).
