By virtue of being human, evil thoughts do come into the minds of men. These thoughts when worked on take the form of a desire, thereof turning into an action. Essentially, evil thoughts are not bad. Because they provide an opportunity to strengthen one’s ego in confronting the elements which are disastrous for the survival of mankind. Out of his unjustified desire, man snatched the right to life of another. There occurred unrest in the society. It leads towards the disruption of a normalcy. The general phenomenon of equality was violated, since the powerful subjugated the powerless. Thus, for creating a just society, it was imperative to take the life of a murderer. However, on to the contrary, often slaves and females were presented to reciprocate. Thus it was obliged to take the life of a man who has actually been proven guilty; To take the life of a murderer – Freeman for freeman, slave for slave and female for female – Al Baqarah 178. However, if the loss bearer has decided to forgive the guilty, that can also be the highest level of virtue, though not mandatory.
