Reviews Measures Taken To Combat COVID-19

Kulgam, May 27 (GNS):  Director General of Police Jammu and Kashmir Dilbagh Singh on Thursday visited District Kulgam and chaired officers meetings to review the security scenario, law and order situation and measures taken to combat COVID-19. The visiting officer also inaugurated newly constructed and renovated projects during the visit.

Singh, as per news agency GNS, was accompanied by IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar, DIG (SKR) Mohd Jabbar. Ceremonial Guard of Honour was presented to the DGP on his arrival at DPL Kulgam.

DGP on the ocassion lauded the police personnel for accepting and tackling multiple challenges. He said that the enthusiasm of working with devotion and dedication into the right direction are necessary for the peace and prosperity. He also emphasised that it should be continued with more energy in future also.

The meeting was attended by IGP Kashmir, DIG SKR Anantnag SP Kulgam GurinderPal Singh, DySP HQR Kulgam Ghulam Mohd Bhat, SDPO Qazigund Govind Rattan, DySP DAR Sheikh Tahir Amin-JKPS,  Dysp PC Kulgam Azhar Rashid, SDPO D.H.Pora Shabir Ahmad, DySP Telecom Javid Athar and other officers of the district.

The DGP appreciated the efforts of the police personnel in maintaining peace and order in the district alongwith other Security Forces and emphasised that to maintain the peaceful environment, security is to be strengthened at all levels with joint efforts of all security forces and to ensure that elements inimical to peace are not given any chance to disturb peace and also applauded the role played by all ranks of the department to contain the spread of Corona Virus (COVID-19) and the efforts put in to work tirelessly in dealing all challenges despite the threat posed by the COVID-19 to humanity.

SP Kulgam alongwith DIG SKR gave a detailed Presentation regarding the present security scenario of Kulgam District and also measures taken to eradicate the spread of Coronavirus COVID-19.

DGP later inaugurated ‘Shaheed DySP Aman Thakur Administrative Block’ built in the memory of Late DySP Aman Kumar Thakur, who made supreme sacrifice of his life in the line of duty in February 2019 while fighting with militants in the District and said that the nation is indebted to the sacrifice of the brave son of the soil who will always be remembered.

He also inaugurated Equipment Warehouse at DPL Kulgam and E-Inaugurated 13 projects including; Armory DPL Kulgam; Block 2nd office complex DPL Kulgam; Addl.SP residence DPL Kulgam; Modernized Police Control Room DPO Kulgam; Power and control center DPO Kulgam; Renovated office Block DPO Kulgam; Mess and Dinning Block PC camp Amnoo Kulgam; Modernized Barracks PC camp Amnoo Kulgam; Command Post Jawahar Tunnel Kulgam; DySP OPS Kulgam residence Devsar; SDPO DH Pora Residence cum office at DH Pora Kulgam; Addl. SP office PC Hqrs Kulgam and Modernized ESU building Kulgam. (GNS)
