Kupwara: On assuming chair as Senior Superintendent of Police of Kupwara district, Shobhit Saxena (IPS) on Wednesday said that eradication of drug menace will remain a top priority of the Police.
The newly posted SSP, successor of Yougal Manhas (JKPS) who is known to have effectively tackled the drug menace during stint of some three years as SSP Kupwara, remarked that there is zero tolerance towards drug menace by the Jammu and Kashmir in the same way as it has been on the national level. “…tackling drug peddling will be our top priority”, Saxena reiterated.
“The drug addiction is a menace which has potential to destroy our future generations”, Saxena said adding we will funderstand the modus operandi of drug syndicates and take required action.”
Buoyed with the warm reception on his arrival to Kupwara and assuming the chair of SSP, Saxena said he already has heard a great lot of good things about Kupwara and it’s lovely people. “I am hopeful of a great time and good relations with the people here.”
The ceremony was attended by shifting SSP Yougal Manhas among other middle rung officers serving at different postings in the district.
