Says Electricity In Kupwara, Handwara And Lolab Restored
Kupwara: Deputy Commissioner Kupwara Ayushi Sudan on Thursday visited several areas of Lolab to assess the on-ground situation in the aftermath of recent snowfall.
She visited Sogam, Lalpora, Dever, Wavoora, Khurhama and other parts of the valley and directed the men and machinery to speed up the work to facilitate the people’s hassle free movement.
“Our main towns and Tehsils are through now for vehicular movement while as the working on the link roads are underway to make it motorable”, DC said.
While reacting to a question when asked about the restoration of power supply in the district, She said that some of the hot lines were damaged mainly by the hospitals. We are working hard on it and the power supply will be restored as soon as possible “, adding “the electricity in Kupwara, Handwara And Lolab have been restored.
“The restoration of power supply in few areas including Arampora, Hath Marg and other areas are yet to be restored and we hope within the 24 hours, all maintenance work will be done”, she remarked.
“Keran is through for the traffic movement as the snow has been removed from the roads while the avalanche warnings have been already issued for Tangdhar and Machil. As the weather permits, the beacon will start their work on both roads”, she further said.
She has urged the people to avoid unnecessary movement to the avalanche prone areas. She said that the home shelters have been set up for the stranded persons which the stranded people can use well and the other improvements will significantly improve as the time passes.
