Jammu, Feb 7: Eidgah MLA Mubarak Gul on Saturday voiced strong concern in the Legislative Assembly over what he described as administrative apathy towards his constituency, stating that officers do not respond to requests raised by elected representatives.

Participating in the discussion, Mubarak Gul said the Eidgah constituency was in a dilapidated condition, with basic civic amenities missing. He told the House that the area suffers from poor road connectivity and lack of adequate water supply, while most development schemes, he alleged, are designed for rural areas and offer little benefit to urban constituencies like Eidgah.

The MLA said he had personally requested an officer to macadamize a stretch of road in his constituency, but his appeal went unanswered. He said such indifference from officials has hampered development and left the constituency lagging behind.

Responding to the concerns, the Deputy Chief Minister assured the House that necessary steps would be taken to address the issues raised and that efforts would be made to improve infrastructure and overall development in the Eidgah constituency. [KNT]
