Srinagar, March 1: In view of ongoing pro-Iran and anti-Israel and United States demonstrations across parts of Kashmir following recent geopolitical developments, Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat, along with Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Vidhi Kumar Birdi.

As per news agency KNC, both senior officials were accompanied by senior police officials, SSP Srinagar and representatives of various security agencies, are deployed on the ground to ensure peace and public safety, officials said on Sunday.

Details available with news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC state that peaceful protests have been reported in different areas of the Valley, with demonstrators expressing solidarity with Iran and voicing opposition to military actions by the US and Israel.

Authorities have emphasised maintaining law and order while allowing peaceful expression, and security forces have been positioned across sensitive localities as a precautionary measure.

The security presence aims to keep the environment secure, prevent any untoward incidents, and facilitate the smooth movement of citizens amid the demonstrations.

Police have reiterated their commitment to maintaining communal harmony and stressed that any actions that could lead to tension or unrest will be dealt with firmly as per law. (KNC)
