Awantipora, 25 March 2026: Continuing its sustained drive against the menace of drugs, Police in Awantipora achieved a significant success by apprehending two drug peddlers during naka checking at Pinglish, Tral.
Police party headed by SHO PS Tral Inspector Tajamul Islam intercepted two persons identified as Jahangeer Ahmad Paray S/o Bashir Ahmad Paray and Tawseef Khaliq Bhat S/o Abdul Khaliq Bhat, both residents of Nazneepora, and subsequently apprehended them. Upon search, 110 grams of charas powder and 900 grams of bhung busa were recovered from their possession.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 32/2026 under relevant sections of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Tral and investigation has been taken up.
Police Awantipora remain committed to eradicating the drug menace from society and urge the general public to cooperate and share any information related to drug peddling with the nearest police establishment.
