Jammu, Apr 6 : Traffic movement on the Jammu Srinagar National Highway was suspended after continuous landslides and shooting stones blocked both tubes between Karol Bridge and Chanderkote in Ramban district, officials said on Monday.

An official told news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC that, vehicular movement has been stopped from both ends at safer locations as a precautionary measure.

“Due to continuous sliding and shooting stones, both tubes are blocked between Karol Bridge and Chanderkote. Traffic has been stopped at either ends at safe locations,” the official said.

He added that Traffic Control Units (TCU) Jammu and Srinagar have been informed to halt movement of heavy motor vehicles (HMVs) and light motor vehicles (LMVs) during night hours till at least one tube is cleared by the National Highways Authority of India. (KNC)
