Poonch, Apr 7 (GNS): A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel lost his life in an accidental firing incident in the Poonch sector on Tuesday, officials said.
The deceased, officials told GNS, has been identified as Constable (GD) Abdul Gani of 38 Battalion, a resident of Chak Dayala in Samba district.
“Preliminary reports indicate that the incident occurred due to an accidental discharge of fire,” officials said adding however, the exact circumstances leading to the incident are yet to be ascertained.
“Cognizance of the matter has been taken, and further details are awaited as investigations are underway,” officials added. (GNS)
