Rescue operation underway; senior officers rush to spot
Udhampur, Apr 20 : At least fifteen persons were killed and sixteen others injured after a passenger bus met with an accident near Jalo area on the Ramnagar–Udhampur route on Monday.
A senior police official told news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC that the bus was on its way from Ramnagar to Udhampur when it met with the accident under unclear circumstances.
“Fifteen people have lost their lives, 16 otheres are injured, and have been shifted to nearby hospital for treatment, rescue teams are on the spot,” a senior police officer said.
Police and local administration teams have launched a rescue operation at the site and are evacuating the injured to nearby medical facilities.
DIG Udhampur Shiv Kumar Sharma has also reached the spot to oversee the rescue and relief operations. (KNC)
