April 28: Continuing its firm action against unlawful trade practices, Police in Pulwama have taken decisive action against illegal LPG decanting in the district.
Acting on reliable information, Police Station Kakapora received inputs that an LPG distributor, namely Firdous Ahmad Dar son of Ab Ahad Dar resident of Hajibal, was illegally transferring LPG from domestic cylinders into commercial cylinders with the intent to deceive consumers and earn undue profits. The activity was being carried out in violation of established norms, posing serious risks to public safety.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 34/26 under relevant provisions of law was registered at Police Station Kakapora and investigation was taken up.
During the course of investigation, police team seized a total of 80 gas cylinders, including 35 domestic and 45 commercial cylinders, in connection with the illegal activity. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the full scope of the operation and to take strict legal action against all those involved.
