April 30: Acting on specific input regarding the unauthorized and illegal sale of controlled medicines, J&K Police initiated prompt action at Cheeni Chowk Anantnag.
A team from Police Station Anantnag, in coordination with the Drugs & Food Control Department, conducted a raid at Atif Medical Store. During the inspection, a substantial quantity of controlled pharmaceutical substances was found being sold in violation of norms. The following medicines were seized: Pregabalin Pro 2.0 – 13 strips, Lopez MD-2 – 10 strips, Clonazepam + Propranolol – 63 tablets and Cocas-DX cough syrup – 08 bottles. All recovered items were seized on the spot and subsequently handed over to the concerned department for further necessary action.
In view of the violations, the medical shop was sealed immediately, and proceedings for cancellation of its pharmaceutical license have been initiated as per law.
Police reiterates its commitment to strict enforcement against illegal drug sales and urges the public to report any such unlawful activities to help safeguard public health and safety.
