May 04: In continuation of strict enforcement under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan, police in Sopore, in coordination with the Drug Control authorities, have sealed another illegal medical store in the jurisdiction of Police District Sopore.

During a joint inspection at Hadipora, Rafiabad, a chemist shop was found operating without a valid drug licence and without mandatory CCTV installation. The shop was being run by Abdul Rashid Lone son of Abdul Khaliq Lone resident of Hadipora. Acting promptly, the Drug Inspector sealed the premises on the spot after following due legal procedure and further legal action has been initiated under relevant provisions of law.

This marks the fourth such enforcement action wherein an unlicensed or non-compliant medical store has been sealed in coordination with the Drug Control Department as part of the ongoing campaign.

Police reiterated that no unlicensed or non-compliant chemist shop will be allowed to operate and strict action will be taken against any violation involving illegal sale or storage of medicines and psychotropic substances. The public is advised to purchase medicines only from authorised and licensed chemists.

Police reaffirmed their commitment to strict enforcement under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan to prevent misuse of drugs and ensure a safer, healthier and drug-free society.
