Bandipora, June 19: The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Bandipora has constituted a five-member inquiry committee to investigate the circumstances surrounding the alleged roadside delivery of a woman shortly after her discharge from District Hospital Bandipora.
According to an official order issued on Friday, the inquiry has been ordered following reports that Hafeeza Begum, a resident of Chechinar Aloosa, allegedly delivered a baby on the roadside after being discharged from the hospital.
The CMO has directed the committee to conduct a detailed fact-finding inquiry into the incident and submit its report within two days.
The panel comprises Dr. Nisar Ahmad Ganie as Chairman, Dr. Tahera Nazir, District Health Officer Bandipora, Dr. Manzoor Ahmad, Consultant Surgeon CHC Sumbal, Dr. Shabnum Ara, Consultant Gynaecologist Block Hajin, and Head Assistant Junaid Ahmad as members.
The order further directs the Medical Superintendent of District Hospital Bandipora to ensure that the concerned doctors remain available before the inquiry committee during the course of the investigation.
The alleged incident has sparked concern and drawn public attention, with the inquiry expected to determine whether established medical protocols were followed prior to the patient’s discharge.
The findings of the committee are likely to form the basis for any further administrative action deemed necessary by the health authorities. [KNT]
