Srinagar, June 21 : A 65-year-old scooty rider lost his life after being hit by an Alto vehicle on the Lasjan Bypass area of Srinagar on Sunday, officials said.
Officials told news agency JKNS that the accident occurred at Lasjan Bypass when an Alto vehicle collided with a scooty, leaving the rider critically injured.
The injured man, identified as Mohammad Abdullah Thoker (65), son of Late Abdul Aziz Thoker and a resident of Lasjan, sustained severe head injuries in the collision and was immediately shifted to SMHS Hospital Srinagar for treatment.
However, doctors at the hospital declared him brought dead on arrival, officials said.
Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated further investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident. (JKNS)
