Reasi, June 27(GNS):In a swift inter-state operation, Reasi Police on Thursday apprehended a couple wanted in a murder case in Uttarakhand. The duo was traced to a hotel in Katra and later handed over to Uttarakhand Police for further legal action.

A Police officer told GNS that the Katra Police Station received inputs from Police Station Dhanya, District Almora, Uttarakhand, that Dharambir, a resident of Sheikhpur, Hisar, Haryana, and his wife Jhanki Devi were absconding after allegedly committing a murder at their native place on June 20, 2026. The tip-off indicated the accused were hiding in Katra.

Acting on the information, a team from Police Station Katra led by PSI Shubham Sharma launched a search. After sustained efforts, the couple was located and apprehended from BNK Hotel, Main Bazaar, Katra.

Uttarakhand Police was immediately informed. After completing legal formalities, both accused were handed over to the Uttarakhand Police team for further investigation.

Reasi Police said the operation reflects its commitment to inter-state coordination to ensure that offenders attempting to evade the law are promptly traced and brought to justice.(GNS)
