July 02: Intensifying its drive against drug peddling and its propagators in the ongoing Nasha Mukt Abhiyan, J&K Police in Kulgam has arrested a drug peddler in the jurisdiction of Police Station Kulgam and recovered approximately 7 grams of Heroin-like substance, one aluminium foil used for storing narcotic substances, and one digital weighing machine from his possession.
A special Naka was established by Police team of Police Station Kulgam at Chawalgam bypass road near tehsil park. During checking one suspicious person after noticing police party tried to escape from the spot. However, he was chased and apprehended tactfully. After search 7 grams of Heroin-like contraband substance, one digital weighing machine and one aluminium foil were recovered from his possession. The drug peddler identified as Md Samim son of Kumar Ali resident of Nargun Uttar Dinajpur, West Bengal has been arrested and contraband substance, weighing machine and aluminium foil have been seized.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No.121/2026 U/S 8/21 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Kulgam and investigation has been taken up.
