Ganderbal, July 2: A 35-year-old woman was found dead under suspicious circumstances at her residence in the Waliwar area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Thursday, prompting police to launch an investigation into the incident.
The woman was found hanging inside her home, following which police rushed to the spot and initiated legal proceedings to ascertain the circumstances surrounding her death.
The body was shifted to a hospital for medico-legal formalities, including post-mortem examination, officials said.
Police said the exact cause of death would be established only after the completion of legal and medical procedures. An inquest has been initiated, and further investigation is underway to determine the facts surrounding the incident. [KNT]
