Anantnag, July 13(GNS) Anantnag Police on Sunday detained an Over Ground Worker at the X-Ray Point Nunwan after a Facial Recognition System alert during security checks for the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.
In a handout to GNS, the police said that identified the detained person as Faisal Muzaffar, son of Muzaffar Ahmad, a resident of Babhara, Pulwama.
Police said personnel acting on the timely FRS alert intercepted the individual for verification and further legal proceedings.
The detection highlights the effectiveness of advanced surveillance systems deployed by Anantnag Police as part of the technology-enabled security grid for the Yatra.
“Anantnag Police remains committed to maintaining a robust security framework and ensuring a safe and peaceful Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra,” officials said, and urged the public to cooperate with security agencies for the smooth conduct of the pilgrimage.(GNS)
