House collapses in landslide; all bodies retrieved, police on spot

Poonch, July 20 (GNS): A flash flood and landslide caused widespread devastation in Loran Domila Dhook area of Poonch district on Monday, leaving 7 people dead.

Officials told GNS that a residential house was hit by a landslide triggered by heavy rains. All 7 persons trapped under the debris were killed.

Police and rescue teams rushed to the spot and retrieved all the bodies.

“Police are on the spot and further details are being ascertained,” an official said.

The incident is part of the widespread damage caused by heavy rains and flash floods in Rajouri and Poonch districts over the last 24 hours, which have claimed multiple lives and damaged public and private property.

Relief and rescue operations are continuing in the affected areas. (GNS)
