Ramban, July 22 : An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of the Traffic Police Line (TPL) Ramban sustained injuries after being struck by a stone at Monkey Morh along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway on Tuesday.
Official sources said that ASI Mohd Ashraf, posted with TPL Ramban, was hit by a falling stone while on duty in the Monkey Morh area. He suffered injuries in the incident and was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Doctors attending to the injured officer said his condition is being monitored, while further details regarding the extent of his injuries are awaited.
Authorities have advised commuters to remain cautious while travelling through landslide-prone stretches of the highway, particularly during the ongoing rainy weather, which has increased the risk of falling stones and shooting rocks.
