Rajouri, Aug 9 (GNS): Authorities have ordered closure of schools in parts of Kotranka, Rajouri on Monday after stray/rabid dogs reportedly bit seven people and other dogs in the area today.

Officials told GNS that according to an order issued by the Zonal Education Planning Officer, Kotranka, it has been reported that some rabies/stray dogs are roaming in Kotranka and have bitten seven persons and other dogs.

In view of safety and well-being of students, all Heads of Institutions and teachers of schools falling under panchayats Jaglanoo, Mohra-A, Mohra-B, Hubbi, Larkooti, Kandi Upper, Kandi Lower and Khadyoon have been directed to inform parents and guardians that students shall not attend school on August 10, 2026 and shall remain at home.

The order further directed all concerned to ensure strict compliance and take all necessary precautionary measures for the safety and security of students.(GNS)
