Qazigund, Aug 30: A man died on the spot after falling from a walnut tree in Damjan area of Qazigund, leaving the local community in deep shock and grief.
The deceased has been identified as Mohd Maqbool Bhat, son of Mohd Ramzan Bhat, a resident of Damjan, Qazigund.
According to locals, Bhat fell from a slippery walnut tree while reportedly engaged in work to earn a livelihood for his family. He sustained critical injuries and died on the spot.
Locals said Bhat belonged to a financially poor family and was the sole breadwinner. He is survived by his wife and two young children.
The tragic incident has cast a pall of gloom over the area, with residents expressing condolences to the bereaved family and praying for the departed soul.(KNC)
