Srinagar, Sep 11 (GNS): The National Health Mission Employees Association (JKNHMEA) Jammu and Kashmir has decided to extend its ongoing peaceful protest and strike by another 72 hours across the Union Territory.

The strike, which was scheduled to end, will now continue from 12th September 2026, the Association said in a formal intimation to the Mission Director, National Health Mission, J&K.

The Association, as per GNS said that the decision to extend the strike was taken in view of the non-fulfillment of their long-pending and legitimate demands and lack of any concrete, time-bound assurance from the competent authorities.

The Association reiterated that the protest will remain completely peaceful, democratic and constitutional, with all participating employees maintaining discipline and public order.

It said the advance intimation is being given for information and necessary action of the authorities.

The Association further said it is open to dialogue and constructive engagement and hopes the government will take meaningful and time-bound steps to address the genuine grievances of NHM employees.

It also warned that it reserves the right to review, extend or modify the course of agitation depending upon the response of the government.(GNS)
