Rajouri, Sep 15 (GNS): In a major breakthrough against the terror ecosystem in Pir Panjal, Rajouri Police have busted an Over Ground Worker (OGW) module allegedly linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and arrested three persons.

Officials told GNS that the arrested accused have been identified as Zakir Hussain, son of Ghulam Hussain, resident of Kotcharwal Teryath, Rajouri, Mohd Azam, son of Ali Bahadur, resident of Kotcharwal Teryath, Rajouri and Mohd Mushtaq, son of Mohd Iqbal, resident of Udhan, Rajouri.

Police said the arrests were made during investigation of a terror module operating in the Pir Panjal region. Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused were allegedly involved in providing logistical support, safe transit and other ground-level assistance to terrorists.

Investigation further revealed that they allegedly acted as guides and facilitated movement of terrorist groups towards the Kashmir Valley and provided ground support in several high-profile attacks, including an attack targeting civilians.

During investigation, an IED was also recovered on the disclosure of one of the accused. Preliminary findings indicate the device had allegedly been handed over to the accused by members of a terrorist group for safe custody and its possible use in a targeted attack.

Police said further investigation is underway to establish the complete network, identify additional associates and ascertain the full extent of their involvement.(GNS)
