September 17: In its continued drive against absconders and wanted persons, Police in Anantnag arrested an absconder involved in an NDPS case registered in Udhampur.
Acting on specific information, a police party from Police Station Dooru, apprehended Abdul Rashid Sood son of Gh. Nabi resident of Garnia, Udhampur, who was evading arrest in connection with case FIR No. 38/2024 under Section 8/15 NDPS Act registered at Police Station Rambhal, Udhampur.
A warrant under Section 299 CrPC had been issued against him by the Court of District & Sessions Judge, Udhampur, in 2025.
The accused has been arrested and further legal proceedings are being undertaken in accordance with law. The arrest reflects J&K Police’s continued efforts to trace and apprehend absconders and wanted persons, irrespective of jurisdiction.
