Srinagar, Oct 08: Except for Lakhanpur Containment zone with a buffer of 500 meters’ radius and Jawahar Tunnel area on either side, all districts but Kishtwar were declared orange zone on Thursday.

B.V.R.Subrahmanyam) Chief Secretary in his capacity as Chairperson, State Executive Committee, also declared Kishtwar district as green zone.  

The announcement was made after a detailed review of the current COVID situation in Jammu and Kashmir which was conducted with the Financial Commissioner, Health, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Kashmir and other officers

“The categorization of districts into Red, Orange and Green Zones/ Districts will be followed for the purposes of implementation of permitted activities in the respective districts, as per a separate order, to be issued by the State Executive Committee (SEC),” reads the order.

The order noted that the trend in new cases particularly the recent large spread and spike in new cases in view of the continuous movement of persons travelling to J&K and between provinces and districts with tremendous risk of further spread.

“The risk perception of the Health department vis-a-vis each district and the need to control further spread of COVID-19.”(GNS)
