Firdous Qadri
Srinagar, Dec 17: (GNS) Residents of Firdous Abad Lane-9 and its adjacent areas have complained of acute shortage of drinking water. They have accused authorities of being indifferent to their problems.
“We are without potable water for over a year now,” Muhammad Yaseen, a local, told GNS.
He said despite repeated pleas to authorities, nothing has been done till date to restore drinking water supply in the area.
The locals alleged that the Public Health Engineering (PHE) department didn’t pay any heed to their repeated pleas.
“The department is openly showing reluctance in restoring water supply in our localities,” another local said.
They have appealed to higher authorities to intervene into the matter and provide them water connectivity at the earliest.
“We appeal to higher authorities to get us out of this misery,” Yaseen pleaded. (GNS)
