‘JeM Involved In CRPF Officer’s Killing’

Srinagar, Sept 24: Two Personal Security Officers (PSOs) of Block Development Council Chairman Bhupinder Singh Khag, Inspector General of Police Vijay Kumar said on Friday.

Singh, the top police officer of the Kashmir said had left the two PSOs at Police Station and without informing police left for ancestral village.

“The village is some 10-12 kilometers from the police station. As soon as he reached there, he was fired upon leading to his death. We have suspended two PSOs and investigations are underway,” the IGP said. “Two suspected persons have been called for questioning. SP Budgam is himself doing the investigations. There is possibility militants knew beforehand that he was coming home. We are accessing his entire CDR (call detail records) and the case will be solved soon,” he said as per GNS, adding, “As per preliminary investigation based on call detail records and militant locations, involvement of LeT commander Yousuf Kanduru and Abrar from Narbal is coming to fore.”

Meanwhile, the police officer said Jash-e-Mohammad militant outfit seemed to be behind the attack on a CRPF patrol in Chadoora Budgam in which an Assistant Sub Inspector of the paramilitary forces was killed and his service rifle snatched. “We are looking into it. M4 has been used and generally it is used by Jash-e-Mohammad.” (GNS)
