Ramban, Dec 27: Police on Saturday arrested the driver of a Scorpio vehicle involved in a fatal road accident in Ramban that claimed the life of a CBI Prosecutor.
Official sources told news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, Alto K-10 car being driven by Advocate Sheikh Adil Nabi, a Prosecutor with the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), was hit by a Scorpio vehicle bearing registration number JK-01BB-2625, resulting in his death.
Senior Superintendent of Police Ramban, Arun Gupta, said that the vehicle involved in the accident has been seized and the accused driver has been identified as Mohammad Shafi, a resident of Nadirgund Peerbagh, Tehsil Chanpora, Srinagar. He has been taken into custody.
SSP said that an FIR No. 139/2025 has been registered at Police Station Banihal under Sections 281 and 125A of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and further investigation into the incident is underway. (KNC)
