Kupwara, Aug 18 (GNS): Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara, Ansul Garg today convened a meeting of Multi Departmental District Level Task Force Committee (MDDLTFC) to discuss various issues regarding illegal storage of minor Minerals on road sides surrounding Nallah Mahwer in district Kupwara.
The meeting discussed threadbare various issues and it was informed that minor mineral material worth Rs.78 lakh was seized by Geology and Mining Department during previous year and it was further added that the defaulters neither deposit Royalty nor the cost of Mineral material so for.
The meeting took a decision that in view of hardships faced by people due to COVID-19, relaxation has been given where under all defaulters have been directed to deposit only the Royalty and the cost of the mineral material within ten days, failing which the concerned Tehsildars shall recover all outstanding amount together with the fine of additional 10 percent of Royalty and remit it to the treasury.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner stressed upon the line departments linked with Geology and Mining department to work with utmost coordination to boost the economy of the district.
Among others, the meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Kupwara Nazir Ahmad Lone, Assistant Commissioner Revenue and District Mineral Officer besides other concerned.
