Kupwara, Nov 09 (GNS): After video of a destitute family in Kandi seeking assistance for construction of their house went viral on social-media sites, Deputy Commissioner Kupwara Dr. Doifode Sagar Dattatray on Wednesday visited the family and handed them a cheque of rupees twenty thousand. In a heart-wrenching video-clip, a woman could be seen asking for assistance for construction of their house amid prevailing inclement weather conditions. “We are facing numerous hardships, rain water rolls down from the rooftop of the hut which every once there is downpour”, the woman says. Taking notice of the clip, Deputy Commissioner concerned Dr. Doifode Sagar Dattatray alongside a team which included ACD Hilal Ahmad visited the house of the house of Mohammad Ramzan Magray son of Ghulam Mohiddin Magray and handed over to them a cheque of rupees twenty-thousand. Talking to GNS, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Doifode Sagar Dattatray said that he was moved due to plight of the household. “We visited the household and handed over them a cheque from Red Cross fund”, he said. “A house has been already sanctioned to the aggrieved family under PMAY with even an installment also provided to them to start the construction of house”, he said adding once they formally start building the house a subsequent amount of rupees fifty thousand would be granted.
