Dr Samoon reviews implementation of National Education Policy, teachers training programs

SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 16: Principal Secretary, School Education Department and Skill Development, Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon today reviewed the implementation of National Education Policy (NEP) and outsourcing Training for Pre Primary Teachers here at a meeting of senior officers of the Education Department.

Threadbare discussions were held on the modalities to be adopted by the education department for the smooth   implementation of National Education Policy, conducting examinations in JKUT, working out modalities for Early Childhood Care Education and device strategy for imparting training to the teachers.

Director, Education Kashmir, Mohammad Younis Malik; Principal IASE, College of Education, Srinagar, Dr Ruhi Kanth besides other senior officers of the Education Department were present in the meeting.

Chairperson, JKBOSE, Veena Pandita; Director, Samagra Shiksha JK, Arun Manhas; Director, Education Jammu, Anuradha Gupta participated in the meeting through video conferencing and highlighted the issues and measures taken by them for smooth functioning of the Education Department.

The meeting was informed that 400 teachers deputed for B Ed course at Government B Ed Colleges  and around 2000 other Teachers shall be trained under Early Childhood Care Education (ECCE) for which Expression of Interest (EOI) shall be floated to get the best  training agencies to train Teachers as per need assessment.

The meeting discussed that the pre-primary is a focus area under National Education Policy and recently the foundation of 1600 kindergartens has been laid. It was also informed in the meeting that two flagship Training Programmes IMPACT and NISHTA are running across Jammu and Kashmir.

The Principal Secretary directed the concerned officers of different wings of education department to work in close coordination and clear bottlenecks for smooth implementation of different projects and schemes of the education department and to lay focus on timely completion of the same.

On the occasion, the Principal Secretary also interacted with the different Training partners.
