Baramulla: District Development Commissioner Baramulla, Minga Sherpa today visited Tangmarg and Gulmarg and finalized the arrangements for the successful conduct of upcoming 4th Edition of Khelo India National Winter Games 2024 at Ski-Resort Gulmarg.

During the visit the DC directed the ARTO and Traffic police Baramulla to implement efficient measures to manage traffic flow during the Winter Games and instructed them to enforce mandatory use of anti-skid chains for all vehicles operated either by transporters or general public, in case of a snowfall.

PDD & PHE were directed to ensure uninterrupted supply of electricity and drinking water while health Services were instructed to ensure availability of expert medical & paramedics staff at Gulmarg

Meanwhile, Minga Sherpa instructed officers from Mechanical and Engineering department to keep men and machinery ready for clearning snow and frost from the roads during any inclement weather conditions.

The DC conducted inspections of multiple parking facilities within the ski-resort of Gulmarg, aimed at efficiently managing the influx of vehicles driven by the heightened tourist activity during the winter games.

Minga Sherpa also assessed the lodging and accommodation provisions for athletes and guests visiting Gulmarg during that period and instructed hoteliers to ensure impeccable arrangements are in place for delivering exceptional service.

Notably, the 4th Edition of the Khelo India Winter Games is scheduled to take place from February 21st to February 26th at Gulmarg, attracting participation of around 800 athletes, competing across various sporting disciplines.
