03 Arrested , 05 Lakh Cash Seized
Srinagar, August 12 :(GNS) Police on Wednesday claimed to have busted a LeT Militant funding module in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
In a statement to GNS, the police said that acting on a reliable information about militant organization LeT activating a module for carrying out militant activities in district Bandipora and Kupwara.
The statement further states that, acting on this information Bandipora police busted a militant module of LeT by arresting 03 persons namely Irshad Ahmad Sheikh resident of Chittibandy Aragam, Mohmad Junaid Wani resident of Nageen Bagh Sopore and Raj Mohmad Khan resident of Lolab Kupwara and seized Rs. 04 Lakh Cash, and 01 in Bank accounts and other incriminating material from from their possession.
They said that the trio were in touch with their handlers in POK and had raised Rs.14 Lakh out of which Rs.09 Lakh have been distributed for financing terror activities in district Bandipora and Kupwara.
In this regard Case FIR No. 29/2020 under different sections of Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) has been registered in Police station Aragam and further investigation of the case is going on, the statement added.(GNS)
