Srinagar: An on-duty police official died of a major ‘cardiac arrest’ in central Kashmir’s Srinagar district on Friday. Srinagar-based news agency Kashmir Scroll quoted an official as saying that one Mushtaq Ahmad, an ASI, from Karnah Kupwara, fell unconscious during duty at Aabi Ghuzar area, falling under the police jurisdiction of Kothibagh this afternoon. He was promptly taken to the PCR hospital for treatment but was declared as brought dead at the hospital. Inquest proceedings have been in the meantime initiated into the incident.
