Srinagar, August 25:(GNS) Police on Tuesday arrested a drug peddler in Parimpora area of central Kashmir’s Srinagar district.
In a statement issued to GNS, the police said that in its continuous efforts against social crimes, arrested a drug peddler at Bus Stand Parimpora.
During a surprise naka checking at Bus Stand Parimpora, police party from Police Station Parimpora led by SHO Parimpora under the supervision of SDPO West City, stopped one Auto load carrier for routine checking and during checking one person identified as Adnaan Nabi (aged 27 yrs) Son of Late Gh Nabi Kawa, resident of Nundreshi Colony Bemina Batmaloo Srinagar, tried to fled away with the load carrier who was chased and stopped.
The statement further stated that, during search 39 cases of XCUF 4680 Codine phosphate bottles were recovered, and the person has been arrested on spot with huge quantity of drugs.
It is pertinent to mention that the accused is a chronic drug peddler and operates in Srinagar City and has been arrested red handed.
In this connection case FIR No.176/20 under relevant sections of law has been registered and investigation taken up at PS Parimpora.
General public has applauded the Police action and Srinagar Police is committed to continue its offensive against the drug peddlers, the statement said.(GNS)
