Srinagar: Renowned Islamic scholar Maulana Mufti Nazeer Ahmed Qasmi has been hospitalized after suffering a major heart attack earlier today.

Qasmi’s office informed that the scholar is currently receiving treatment in ICU at a Srinagar-based hospital.

“By the grace of Allah (SWT), timely medical intervention, the expertise of healthcare professionals, and the prayers of well-wishers, his condition has now stabilized, and he is out of immediate danger,” reads a media statement, adding, “He is currently receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) under close observation. “

The office has expressed profound gratitude to Allah (SWT) for His mercy and acknowledged the critical role played by the medical team, particularly Dr. Aamir and senior physicians, whose swift response and expertise were pivotal in managing the emergency. “We are deeply thankful to Allah and the dedicated medical personnel. May the Almighty grant them immense rewards in this world and the hereafter,” reads the statement as per Alfaaz – The Words.

The statement further said that Qasmi’s all upcoming public engagements and programs have been canceled indefinitely to prioritize his recovery. “Family members, students, and followers worldwide have been urged to continue praying for his complete and swift recuperation,” reads the statement.

Pertinent to mention here that Mufti Nazir Ahmad Qasmi is a Kashmiri Sunni Islamic scholar and jurist who currently is serving as the Grand Mufti of Darul Uloom Raheemiyyah Bandipora. He is an alumnus of Darul Uloom Deoband and the Imārat-e-Sharia; and a member of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board and general secretary of the Majlis-e-Fiqhi, Jammu and Kashmir.
