Srinagar, Dec 22: Security agencies on Monday intensified checking operations across various parts of Srinagar as part of routine measures aimed at enhancing vigilance and ensuring public safety, officials said.
As per news agency Kashmir News Corner (KNC), joint teams comprising personnel from the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the CRPF were deployed at strategic locations, including busy market areas, major intersections and other sensitive points across the city. During the drive, vehicles were intercepted, documents were verified and commuters were briefly questioned.
Officials within the security grid told KNC that, the intensified checking was carried out to maintain a alertness in crowded areas and to facilitate smooth movement of people amid the ongoing winter rush.
They added that the exercise is a preventive step to further strengthen the security grid and maintain public order.
Such checks, officials said, are part of the multi-agency surveillance mechanism routinely adopted to monitor movement and ensure safety across Srinagar. (KNC)
