Srinagar: Security forces have apprehended three over-ground-workers and recovered from their possession arms and ammunition in Sopore area of Baramulla district. A senior Police Officer told news agency Kashmir Scroll said that during a routine check at Fruit Mandi crossing on March 31, 2024 Sopore Police, along with 22 RR and 179 BN CRPF, observed suspicious behavior from three individuals attempting to flee. “The trio was tactically intercepted and apprehended on the spot,” said the Police Officer. Identifying the apprehended trio as Faisal Ahmad Kachroo son of Farooq Ahmad Kachroo, of Baba Yousuf Sopore, Aquib Mehraj Kana son of Mehrajdin Kana, of Sangrama Sopore, and Adil Akber Gojree son of Akbar Gojree, of Kushal Matoo Sopore, the police officer said further that upon searching them, a pistol and mobile phones were recovered. “The trio failed to justify the contents of their phones, which contained incriminating evidence, following which a case has been registered under FIR No. 68/2024 U/S 7/25 Arms Act and 13 UAPA Act at Police Station Sopore, with investigations going on,” said the officer further.
