Sopore, Feb 6: Authorities in Sopore have sealed the operation theatre at Hakeem Sonuallah Hospital following allegations that a doctor mistakenly removed a patient’s uterus instead of performing a scheduled ENT surgery. The incident has triggered outrage, raising serious concerns over medical negligence and the hospital’s surgical procedures. Sources indicate that the patient was admitted for a routine ENT procedure, but due to an alleged error, an irreversible surgical procedure was performed, resulting in the removal of the uterus. In response to mounting public anger, local health officials swiftly sealed the operation theatre and launched an inquiry into the matter. Authorities have stated that if the investigation confirms negligence or malpractice, those responsible could face both criminal charges and civil lawsuits.
