Srinagar, Oct 16(GNS): Three days after “absconding” from a camp in central Kashmir’s Budgam district, a trooper of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) has been apprehended in home town of Rajouri, officials said on Friday.

A police official told GNS that the constable Altaf Hussain (110734231) son of Alam Din of Rehan Koteranka Rajouri was apprehended along with some INSAS rounds.

At around 2115 hours on October 13, the trooper had “absconded” along with a magazine of his service rifle (INSAS) from the camp at Nagam area of Budgam, officials said.

Subsequently on October 14, the Commandant of the 14th battalion of SSB had made a communication to police station Chadoora that the constable has absconded and also sought registration of the FIR in connection with incident. It could not be immediate known whether the constable had absconded the camp after some tiff with seniors or there were some other reasons. “We are investigating the case.
