Srinagar, Oct 8: Week long events to mark the ‘Wildlife Week 2020’ programmes culminated on Thursday in south-Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
An Wildlife official said that the chain of ongoing ‘Wildlife Week 2020’ events in South division ended today with a mega awareness programme held at Government Higher Secondary School Gadol Vailoo in Bringi valley of Kokernag area in the district.
The programme, as per the official, was being organised under the supervision of Range Officer Bringi valley Dildar Ahmad Bhat, with Deputy Chief Conservator Wildlife Abdul Rouf Zargar as Chief Guest.
“A painting competition with theme ‘Wildlife’ was held between the students from various schools in the area and the best of them felicitated by the Chief Guest on the ocassion”, the official said.
The programmes into ‘Wildlife Week 2020’ were also held in Pahalgam Range of the district on October 6 and 7 respectively, the official said.
Pertinent to mention here that the Wildlife Department held a chain of programmes, starting second week of October.
The main motive of the awareness programmes, as per the official, was conservation of biodiversity and to lay emphasis on different aspects of wildlife.
