Srinagar, May 09 (GNS): Two persons were injured after two cranes overturned during a dumper retrieval operation in the Kharbella Limber (B) area of Baramulla district on Saturday, officials said.

The incident, officials told GNS, occurred during the recovery of a dumper bearing registration number JK05K-3528, which had met with an accident on Friday. “The vehicle was being driven by Iftikhar Ahmad of Pehlipora, who had sustained injuries in the earlier mishap and was shifted to PHC Sheeri for treatment.”

Officials said that during the rescue operation, two cranes bearing registration numbers JK02BT-5387 and JK02BH-8717 lost control and fell while attempting to retrieve the damaged dumper.

“Both crane drivers sustained injuries and were immediately taken to PHC Boniyar for medical treatment,” they said adding one of the injured, identified as Mohammad Saleem, a resident of Reasi, was critically injured and later referred to Government Medical College Baramulla for specialised treatment.

Further investigation into the incident is underway, officials added. (GNS)
