Srinagar, May 08: Three youths reportedly drowned in the Jhelum river in Hajin area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Friday.

News agency JKNS reported officials as saying that the incident occurred in the Hajin area, prompting authorities to launch a rescue operation to trace the missing youths.

Police, rescue teams and local volunteers were engaged in the search operation in the river till the filing of this report, while the identities of the youths were yet to be ascertained.

Officials said further details were awaited even as the rescue operation was is underway.
