Srinagar, Sept 21 (GNS): 3000 litres of subsidized kerosene oil from a tanker and a truck in Awantipora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, police said on Monday.
A police spokesperson said that acting on a specific information about “illegal trade of subsidized kerosene oil in Khinbugh Lethpora”, a Police party raided the village and recovered 3000 litres of kerosene oil from a tanker (JK02X-9426) and a truck (JK05A-7626.)
“Two persons involved in the commission of crime have been identified as Uzair Ahmad Ganie of Samboora Pampore Pulwama and Faisal Ahmad Mir of Panzgam Kupwara,” he said in a statement issued to GNS.
“Both the accused persons have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody,” he said, adding, “Vehicles used in the commission of crime have also been seized.”
A Case (FIR No. 130/2020) under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Awantipora and investigation has been initiated, the spokesman added. (GNS)
