Srinagar, Aug 1 (GNS): Jammu and Kashmir’s MMA prospect Owais Yaqoob is gearing up for the biggest test of his career as he faces undefeated Bulgarian Delyan Georgiev at BRAVE Combat Federation 107 in Burgas, Bulgaria, today.
The 68kg catchweight contest, scheduled at Arena Burgas, pits the fighter from Murran village in Pulwama against a 3-0 opponent who is also a two-time IMMAF World Champion.
Yaqoob, 5-1 as a professional, comes into the bout on a five-fight winning run. He has impressed in BRAVE CF with multiple first-round finishes and was named BRAVE CF Breakout Fighter of the Year 2025, emerging as one of India’s fastest-rising MMA talents.
The matchup also brings a spotlight to two elite global camps. Georgiev trains under Team Topuria alongside UFC featherweight champion Ilia Topuria, while Yaqoob is part of Team Khabib and prepares at the American Kickboxing Academy under the system built by MMA legend Khabib Nurmagomedov.
